Steven Johnston

I lead the technical design and delivery of infrastructure projects for enterprise and public sector clients, owning the architecture, setting standards across concurrent programmes, and seeing complex multi-vendor deployments through to production. Day to day, that means designing multi-region cloud architectures, building AI agents that automate network operations, and leading a team of engineers.

I started out as a hands-on engineer, moved into solutions architecture, and now work as a technical lead, so I'm comfortable at every level, whether that's working through a routing problem with an engineer or talking strategy with senior stakeholders.

SC cleared and working at Lead Architect level, I cover networking, security, cloud, and AI-driven automation, and take programmes from initial concept through to production. My work spans global enterprise and public sector environments, including critical national infrastructure and major public sector organisations.

Over the past two years I've focused on bringing agentic AI into infrastructure operations, designing and deploying automation platforms that cut manual effort, speed up delivery, and give teams information they can actually act on. New technology is most useful when it's applied with the same rigour as everything else, and that's how I approach it.
